In a viral video, aespa stunned K-pop fans with their performance at the 2024 The Fact Music Awards.

The TMA 2024 took place on September 7th and 8th in Japan, honoring the top K-pop artists of the year. During the ceremony, aespa made history by becoming the first-ever girl group to win the Grand Prize (Daesang) since the awards were established in 2019. To show their gratitude to their fans, known as MYs, and to the audience, the four-member group from SM Entertainment delivered three remarkable performances, including their hits “Set the Tone”and “Armageddon.”

While these songs energised the crowd, it was their encore performance of “Supernova”that truly amazed spectators.

Karina, Giselle, Winter, and NingNing performed live without backtrack or in-ear monitors, earning immense respect from netizens. Fans were impressed by their ability to sing the track live, notably in a crowded venue where such audio techniques are generally crucial.

In an age where K-pop idols often lip-sync, aespa’s live performance showcased their genuine vocal abilities. The video capturing their performance quickly went viral on an online community, with K-Netz expressing their excitement about seeing a group of true singers.
