Out of the blue, aespa appeared in A-list celebrity Kim Kardashian’s Instagram Story as an unexpected cameo.
On November 10, 2023, aespa’s single “Drama”was released to great acclaim. The song achieved tremendous success in both South Korea and internationally, reaching number two on South Korea’s Weekly Circle Chart and number eight on the World Digital Song Sales Chart in the United States.
In total, it achieved a position in the top ten in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
Despite being released six months ago, the song continues to remain popular and stay current. This has been further amplified by its recent feature on Kim Kardashian’s Instagram Story.
Disney+ has just unveiled the trailer for “The Kardashian”season five’s premiere episode. Within the first five seconds, viewers were greeted with the familiar chimes from the iconic “Drama”intro. Throughout the trailer, the instrumental served as the background music.
Despite this, they still incorporated moments where the members could hear the iconic line, “I bring / I bring all the Drama,”as well as the lines “With my girls in the back / Girls in the back/ Drama.”

Despite the initial shock of fans realizing that “Drama”was used as the background music for the trailer of “The Kardashian,”it was Kim Kardashian’s next action that caused MYs to go into a frenzy. She took to her Instagram Story to share the trailer, featuring aespa’s “Drama”as the background song.

Despite having never heard of aespa before, many fans are now familiar with their song “Drama”thanks to Kim Kardashian, who boasts over 362 million followers on Instagram.

On May 13, aespa released the music video for their pre-release track “Supernova”from their upcoming full-length album “Armageddon.”The album is set to be revealed on May 27, along with the title track of the same name.
The reference in aespa’s ‘Supernova’ Music Video has sparked mixed reactions, with some finding it ‘disgusting’ while others do not.
In June 2024, aespa will kick off their second global tour, “SYNK: Parallel Line,”with two shows in Seoul.
