aespa Winter ‘Demands’ SM to Produce More ‘Armageddon’ CDP: ‘We Couldn’t Get One Ourselves’

During aespa’s “Armageddon”showcase, Winter called on SM Entertainment to produce additional copies of their debut studio album’s CDP version as it had completely sold out within a single day.

On May 27, aespa held a comeback showcase at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their 1st full-length album.

The album contains a total of 10 songs, with the inclusion of the double title track, “Supernova”and “Armageddon.”In addition, the physical copy of the album offers 21 different versions.

Fans have the option to choose their preferred copy from a variety of versions, including 5 “MY POWER”versions, 4 “SUPERBEING”versions, 4 “POSTER”versions, 1 “ZINE”version, 2 “AUTHENTIC”versions, 4 “Smini”versions, and 1 CDP.

Among the many exciting announcements, the one that caught the attention of fans the most was the CDP version of “Armageddon.”This version includes a CD player, making it a highly sought-after item among fans.

By using this feature, all 10 songs can be instantly played on the device and it can also be connected via Bluetooth!

Despite its high price, CPD ver. surprisingly sold out multiple times within a day. During the showcase, aespa discussed the initial inspiration behind the idea.

Karina, the leader, spoke:

“The company suggested the CD player album first, so we received it and were very impressed. If we release a CD player album in the next album, we want to include a lot of our ideas.”

Despite expressing her dissatisfaction with the limited stocks available, Winter indirectly urged SM to produce more so that more fans could purchase it.

It was revealed by Winter that not even the members were able to get a copy after it sold out!

“I wish we could have the CD player, too. They are all sold out, so we couldn’t get one ourselves. We want more copies to be released so that the members can have them and give them to our parents. I hope that many fans who want them can also have them.”

At 6 PM KST on May 27, aespa’s debut full-length album, “Armageddon,”was officially released on various music platforms.

The second title track, “Armageddon,”which was released after “Supernova,”is a hip-hop dance song that features a strong and intense sound along with a rough and controlled tone.

The lyrics convey the idea of encountering a new version of oneself in a different realm and emerging as a whole, transformed individual.

The performance also demonstrates the enhanced stage presence of the members, who appear to be in perfect sync with the groove and music that only aespa can convey.

Prior to its debut, the album had already surpassed 1.02 million pre-orders, and it is anticipated to achieve a fourth million-selling record, along with their previous albums “Girls,””MY WORLD,”and “Drama.”
