According to an article by Star News, the May 16th afternoon broadcast of Mnet’s music program “M Countdown”will showcase all 4 members of aespa – Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning – in their highly anticipated comeback stage.
Earlier, a fire erupted at the pre-recording location, leading to the evacuation of artists and audience members as reported by the incident. Despite the commotion, it has been verified that aespa had already finished recording their comeback stage. The fire incident took place during their final touch-up filming, when sparks flew from a set corner, causing the disruption.
According to a spokesperson for “M Countdown”who spoke to Star News, the first fire was quickly identified and put out. As a precaution, both the performers and attendees were swiftly evacuated, and fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result.
The spokesperson emphasized, “We ensure that all sets used on ‘M Countdown’ are treated with fire retardants and we will conduct thorough re-inspections of our maintenance processes to prevent any potential issues from arising in the future.”
Despite Winter recently undergoing surgery for a pneumothorax and feeling unwell, the live broadcast will still include the performances of three members, with Winter being the only one not participating due to her decision to rest.
At the same time, aespa returned on May 13 with their first full-length album “Armageddon,”featuring the double title track “Supernova.”
The songs from aespa’s first full-length album will be released on May 27 at 6 PM (KST).
