Winter from aespa Responds to Hate Comments on Weverse
On January 7th, aespa‘s Winter took to the fan engagement platform Weverse to host a session known as “menpa,”where she interacted with fans by responding to their comments and posts. This led to an unfortunate onslaught of hateful remarks directed at her.
Among the disturbing comments, one user venomously asked, “Why aren’t you dead yet?” while attaching cigarette emojis. In a commendably composed manner, Winter retorted, “Smoking is very bad for health,” demonstrating her ability to tackle negativity with positivity.
Faced with another derogatory remark stating, “You look like a b*tch,” Winter countered with humor, saying, “Oh, I am known to have a puppy face,” reaffirming her playful personality amidst hostility.
Furthermore, when confronted with a comment advising her to “Turn off your data and sleep forever,” Winter cleverly responded with, “Eat this,” followed by an ice cream cone emoji, suggesting that a little sweetness can uplift one’s mood.
Weverse, please improve your app’s moderation system to protect the artists. How are such hateful comments allowed on the app? @weverseofficialSM, take REAL action to protect WINTER, ensuring she is supported and that her well-being is prioritized. @SMTOWNGLOBAL @aespa_official pic.twitter.com/B6Qs64IzYT
