On May 8th, aespa’s Winter interacted with her fans on the paid communication platform Bubble. During the conversation, she brought up her Instagram post where she expressed feeling tired. Winter’s brother had offered to help her, making their close relationship a popular topic among fans.
She shared that her father had seen it and had even gone so far as to say, “I’ll step on them all for you!!!”This showed his unwavering support for his daughter.
The statement caught the attention of many, as it seemed to be a direct response to Bang Si-hyuk’s comment about aespa. Min Hee-jin had made this remark at a press conference during her dispute with HYBE.
HYBE had initially suspected ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin of attempting to gain control of the management rights. However, Min Hee-jin held a press conference to express her grievances and refute HYBE’s allegations. In her defense, she revealed Kakaotalk messages exchanged with Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, in which he had asked her, “Can you sabotage aespa?”while she was preparing for NewJeans’s debut. Min Hee-jin was taken aback by the message and responded with a simple “Hahaha”. She made it clear that she would never stoop to such tactics and would never intentionally harm another artist.
Despite facing unexpected mentions in HYBE’s internal conflict, aespa is determined to make a successful comeback with their first full album “Armageddon” after 4 years since their debut. The girl group faced challenges during their preparation, especially with the looming competition against HYBE’s girl group NewJeans.
Winter’s father appeared to have specifically directed his supportive message towards Bang Si-hyuk. Fans responded with great enthusiasm, expressing sentiments such as “He will surely overpower them, won’t he?”, “Her family members are incredibly resilient and dependable”, and “Given that Winter’s father is a soldier, he may truly overpower them.”
In the meantime, on May 13th, aespa will treat fans to their new song “Supernova”and on May 27th at 6 p.m., they will also unveil all of the tracks from their album, including the second title track “Armageddon”.
