During the August 30th episode of KBS2’s The Seasons: Zico’s Artist, it was revealed that Zico would be enlisting in the near future.
During the program, Lee Jae Wook engaged in an open and honest discussion with host Zico, discussing his journey as an actor and reminiscing about his past. He recounted his involvement in a hip-hop club during high school, vividly describing the emotions he experienced during that time. Additionally, he and Zico teamed up for a duet performance, showcasing his remarkable singing abilities.
For their duet, they decided on Primary’s “Johnny.”Lee Jae Wook clarified their selection, stating, “While there are other songs we considered, I am unable to perform them at this time.”
During a playful interaction, Zico asked, “You’re not familiar with Jae Wook?”In a joking manner, Lee Jae Wook replied, “Oh, the one who excels in acting?”With his deep voice, he impressed the crowd with his singing abilities. When Zico ad-libbed, “Why are you doing this?”Lee Jae Wook responded, “Me? I’m just feeling lonely,”capturing the audience’s interest.
The song they chose for the second performance was Park Jae Jung’s “Let’s Say Goodbye.”Zico remarked, “This is the song that captured my heart at first glance.”Interestingly, Lee Jae Wook was also humming this song, prompting Zico to invite him onto the show.
Lee Jae Wook revealed that he had limited time before his enlistment. He stated his plan to potentially enlist next year and expressed his desire to make the most out of his time before then.
This announcement attracted even more interest as it happened to coincide with the recent news of his short-lived romance and subsequent split with Karina.
Lee Jae Wook and Karina from aespa initially crossed paths at a Milan fashion show in January where they hit it off and started dating. However, their relationship came to an end after approximately two months.
Despite receiving initial support and congratulations from the public, Karina received backlash from certain fans. In fact, a group of fans went as far as staging a truck protest in front of SM Entertainment’s headquarters.
Eventually, Karina wrote a personal apology in her own handwriting in an attempt to calm her fans, but the situation did not improve. This ultimately resulted in the couple’s mutual decision to end their relationship.
At present, Lee Jae Wook’s supporters are filled with anticipation as they await his return from military duty and wonder what kind of image he will showcase.
