Plot of the Golden Kamuy Live-Action Film
In the early 20th-century wilderness of Hokkaido, the tale takes place. Saichi Sugimoto, known as “Immortal”for his heroic deeds during the war, sets out on a mission to find a secret hoard of gold. Along the way, he teams up with Asirpa, a young Ainu seeking vengeance.
The competitors include First Lieutenant Tsurumi, determined to win the gold for the benefit of his soldiers, and Toshizo Hijikata, a formidable former commander with his own agenda. Their intense competition for the treasure sparks a fierce survival challenge in the harsh northern wilderness.

Golden Kamuy
The inspiration for Golden Kamuy comes from a manga series created by Satoru Noda, which was first published in August 2014 in the seinen magazine Weekly Young Jump. The manga ran for several years before concluding in April 2022 and has been compiled into 31 volumes.
The central focus of the story is on Saichi Sugimoto, a war veteran who fought in the Russo-Japanese war.
In desperate need of money, he decides to embark on a quest after hearing a story about hidden Ainu gold. Asirpa, a young Ainu girl, joins him on his journey.
