Although Agatha All Along is a spinoff of WandaVision, early reviews suggest it may eclipse its predecessor in critics’ ratings.
After a lengthy three-year wait, fans of WandaVision will finally reconnect with one of their favorite characters, as the highly anticipated spinoff series, Agatha All Along, is set to premiere on September 18, 2024.
Taking place after the dramatic events of Wanda Maximoff’s Westview meltdown, the series will follow Agatha as she attempts to regain her magical powers, alongside a host of other enchanting beings.
Given its close connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most acclaimed television series to date, along with its focus on a beloved villain’s backstory, many fans are predicting that Agatha All Along could achieve a remarkable Rotten Tomatoes score of 95%.
At present, WandaVision maintains an impressive score of 92%, with critics lauding it as an “experimental triumph for Marvel TV.”
However, the early reception for its successor has been overwhelmingly positive, with numerous journalists praising the initial four episodes they’ve screened.
The standout feature of this mini-series is its ability to craft a fun and spooky ambiance, bolstered by an A-list cast and packed with Easter eggs that link the story to WandaVision and beyond.
“Agatha All Along is a delight. The first four episodes are eccentric, genuinely humorous, and surprising from a comics/MCU perspective. Stellar performances all around. I can’t wait for more,” one critic stated.
Another critic commented, “Agatha All Along is WICKEDLY FUN! This witchy spinoff casts its own enchantment. Kathryn Hahn is wonderfully mischievous, Joe Locke is a pleasure to watch, and the chemistry among the coven will leave you BEWITCHED. It’s the perfect Marvel series for the Halloween season, bound to leave you HEXED!”
A third viewer highlighted a potential romance to watch for, saying, “I adored the first four episodes of Agatha All Along. They perfectly capture witchy vibes, feature a fantastic cast, some genuinely spooky moments, and a gradual inclusion of deeper emotions. Kathryn Hahn shines as Agatha, and Aubrey Plaza is phenomenal as Rio. Expect to ship them hard!”
Episodes 1 and 2 of Agatha All Along will debut on September 18 exclusively on Disney+.
