In a recent radio interview, K-pop star Ahn Sohee disclosed that THIS junior from current groups has captured her heart the most.
On June 12, Ahn Sohee, former member of the Wonder Girls, appeared as a guest on SBS’s radio show “Kim Young Chul’s PowerFM.”
On that particular day, the two indulged in memories of the top star’s prime as an idol and reflected on the past with a sense of longing. DJ Kim Young Chul also shared his disappointment in the current era where many are unaware of Ahn’s past as a singer before her acting career.
Sohee consented and stated:
“That’s understandable. To me, the first-gen idol is Fin. K.L. and S.E.S sunbaenim, but there are people who say that I am a first-generation idol.”
Specifically, in 2007, Wonder Girls made their debut during the beginning of the second-generation era for girl groups. This moment marked a significant turning point for the global music industry as their hit song, “Nobody,”caused a sensation and made them the first K-pop group to land on the U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
In addition, a dance craze known as “So Hot”and “Tell Me”was created in South Korea. The latter song gained worldwide popularity when it became a viral TikTok dance challenge last year.
At the age of 17, Ahn was asked if she had noticed any junior idol groups that caught her attention. Her response was immediate:
“SEVENTEEN. I really like SEVENTEEN’s music.”
However, this is not the initial instance of Ahn Sohee displaying her fondness for the team, as she has been openly expressing her adoration for them since 2022!
During an interview with SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan, who is known for being a huge fan of Wonder Girls, Ahn Sohee revealed that she is also a big admirer of the group.

At that moment, she lavished them with compliments, expressing:
“SEVENTEEN is the idol group that I adore. It’s so obvious that you practice a lot and I can see you’re proud of your performances.
You do your best to stand out which is very natural as an idol but you also think about the whole performance and the members do their best to make a perfect stage as a group.
That’s what I think of SEVENTEEN. It’s like, ‘I love these guys, they are so good.”

Despite the passing of two years, her love remained unwavering. During a radio broadcast on June 10, hosted by Day6’s Young K, she recommended that SEVENTEEN’s “Our dawn is hotter than day”be played.
Despite her beginnings as an idol, Ahn Sohee has established herself as a successful actress in the younger generation. Her notable works include “Train to Busan”and “Missing: The Other Side,”both of which have been released with two seasons.
Currently, she is promoting her upcoming film “Daechi-dong Scandal,”in which she stars alongside actor Park Sang Nam, by making appearances on a variety of content and radio shows.
