Airbnb has announced the addition of a new Icons category, providing one-of-a-kind opportunities such as playing video games with Khaby Lame or attending a training session in the X-Men’s Danger Room.
Today, Airbnb revealed its plans to increase its offerings by introducing Icons, a new section dedicated to providing “exceptional experiences from the world’s most iconic locations.”
The Icons category builds upon Airbnb’s previous experience-focused bookings, such as the popular Barbie’s Dreamhouse stay from last year, representing the natural progression of their offerings.
Icons presents an opportunity for visitors to reside in a one-of-a-kind destination showcasing prominent figures and labels in the fields of music, film, television, art, sports, and beyond. The selection debuted today with 11 distinctive options, such as the actual flying house from Disney’s Up and the X-Mansion from X-Men ’97, complete with a training session in the Danger Room. In addition, it offers personalized experiences such as an exclusive evening with Kevin Hart or a gaming session with popular TikTok sensation Khaby Lame.
According to Airbnb co-founder and CEO, Brian Chesky, Icons provide access to worlds that were previously only imagined, but are now made a reality. With the increasing digitization of life, the company’s focus is on adding more enchantment to the real world. The creation of Icons has resulted in the most exceptional experiences on the planet.
Airbnb states that the majority of their icons are available at no cost, with accommodations priced at less than $100 per guest.
Interested fans can browse and reserve these experiences as they become open for booking in the Icons category on Airbnb’s website.
Every Airbnb Icons listing & how to book them
To reserve an Airbnb Icon experience, first confirm that the Icon is currently available and then submit a booking request. Upon confirmation, guests will receive a digital golden ticket for their reservation. According to Airbnb, there will be over 4,000 tickets available for bookings in 2024.
