Meta and Lufthansa have joined forces to ensure that the Quest is the ultimate in-flight entertainment device, provided you purchase a business-class ticket.
Long-haul flights can often be tedious, particularly when the entertainment options are limited to a small screen, which is not very engaging. However, Lufthansa Airlines is determined to change this.
Meta has recently launched a Travel Mode for the Meta Quest 2 and 3, aiming to enhance the air travel experience by offering a variety of in-flight entertainment through the VR headset.
Meta and Lufthansa have collaborated to launch a new program, exclusively for business-class passengers on specific flights. This initiative will provide complimentary Quest 3 headsets to travelers, equipped with a range of customized content that can be accessed in Travel Mode. This includes entertainment, travel-related information, wellness resources, and games.
Despite being the first time an airline will provide access to the Quest 3 during a flight, Lufthansa has previous experience with VR technology.
In 2017, the airlines provided passengers with access to a Google Play app and complimentary Google Cardboard headsets. This app enabled travelers to virtually experience destinations like Hong Kong and Miami Beach using their mobile devices.
Since the days of Google Cardboard, VR technology has made significant advancements. Those who are willing to experiment and try out the new features can expect to have improved experiences on their journeys.
Meta Quest 2 and 3 owners can now bring their headsets on flights and access Travel Mode. This feature allows travelers to fully experience VR without the need for business-class tickets or being limited to a specific airline.
