The latest developments in chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen finally gave the series’ protagonist, Itadori Yuji, the recognition he deserved. At the end of the chapter, he impressively expanded his domain, leaving the King of Curses in shock. Despite being underestimated by both fans and the King of Curses in previous chapters, Itadori’s true potential was revealed as he was unable to save his closest friends from death.
Despite initial criticism, the main protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, created by Gege Akutami, proved to be worthy of the spotlight. Fans had hoped that he would ultimately defeat the final antagonist, and their wishes were granted.
Note: The following article includes possible spoilers from chapter 264 of Jujutsu Kaisen and reflects the author’s personal opinion.
Itadori Yuji’s Progress in Jujutsu Kaisen: Reaching the Power to Defeat Sukuna
After Ryomen Sukuna attacked Hana Kurusu and Aoi Todou, Itadori joined the fight and followed the movements of the Cursed King within Jacob’s Ladder. The sorcerers continued their assault on Sukuna, leaving him no time to recuperate.
The King of Curses, having regained his reverse cursed technique, used it to regenerate his arm and resume attacking Itadori. The clash of their cursed techniques continued until both sorcerers were exhausted.
Sukuna reflected that, considering their previous encounter, the Jujutsu Kaisen MC would only be able to strike the barrier separating him from Megumi’s soul. Therefore, he was confident that Itadori posed no threat to Megumi’s physical body.
Nevertheless, the Honored One’s lesson on the significance of possessing a domain was interrupted by a sudden flashback of Gojo’s previous encounter with Jogo. As the Jujutsu Kaisen protagonist, Itadori, mimicked the hand gesture for domain expansion, the scene shifted to Ryomen Sukuna’s unexpected appearance at a train station.
In the ultimate showdown against Ryomen Sukuna, Itadori suffered the greatest defeat. The battle commenced with the defeat of Gojo Satoru, who was overpowered by the cursed technique of the King of Curses. Following this, the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, with Higurama by his side, carried on the fight.
Sadly, Sukuna also claimed the life of Higurama, leaving his weapon to be wielded by Itadori. However, Itadori was fortunate to receive assistance from Choso, who greatly aided in his strength and ability to confront Sukuna. Tragically, Choso met his demise in front of Itadori, causing the sorcerer to grieve once again.
In addition, numerous sorcerers, such as Yuta and Kusakabe, joined the fight but were severely wounded when they witnessed the true power of the final villain in the series. The protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen could only watch as the King of Curses shattered the morale of the sorcerers.
Nevertheless, the situation changed with the recent release of the latest chapter, as Itadori’s strength could potentially match that of Ryomen Sukuna. Not only do they share the same cursed technique, Shrine, but they are also both proficient in utilizing Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT). Most significantly, they both possess a domain that they can expand. While Itadori’s domain expansion remains undisclosed, it has the potential to be as formidable as that of the King of Curses.
