The anticipation is building! The final add-on for Alan Wake 2, titled The Lake House, has remained largely under wraps until yesterday’s trailer drop, which unveiled a captivating, eerie atmosphere awaiting gamers.
While we already knew that October was the designated month for its launch, we now have an official release date. Are you prepared to plunge into the depths of terror lurking beneath the lake?
1. Alan Wake 2 – The Lake House DLC Launch Date
Mark your calendars: Remedy Entertainment’s eagerly awaited expansion for Alan Wake 2, The Lake House, is set to launch on October 22nd at 8 AM EDT (5 AM PDT, 1 PM BST, 3 PM EEST, 9 PM JST). To fully experience the thrilling conclusion of the game, players must own the Deluxe Edition or can upgrade for $20, which includes both expansions and exclusive cosmetic items.
A physical Deluxe Edition will also hit the shelves on October 22nd, which includes codes for both Alan Wake Remastered and Alan Wake 2 along with all downloadable content. Pre-orders are available through Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy.
2. Alan Wake 2 – The Lake House DLC Trailer
The upcoming expansion, The Lake House, is set to intensify the horror and thrill factors. This add-on creates an intriguing link with Remedy’s acclaimed 2019 title, Control, and its upcoming sequel, enriching the overarching narrative.
Players will take on the role of Agent Estevez, a pivotal character from Alan Wake 2’s storyline, becoming playable for the first time. Set in a Federal Bureau of Control research facility by the shores of Cauldron Lake, The Lake House enhances the terror with nightmarish creatures emerging from walls, revived corpses, a fresh weapon, and a significant amount of gore, promising a darker journey than the original game.
According to Game Director Kyle Rowley in an interview with Xbox Wire, “There is a vast open environment for exploration, numerous secrets to unveil, and perilous foes to evade. The narrative plays a crucial role in this expansion, as it did in the base game, which makes it worthwhile to thoroughly investigate and find the many story elements scattered across the landscape.”

The Lake House expansion will be available on October 22nd, accessible through either the main menu or story campaign, and is part of the Deluxe Edition. Owners of the Standard Edition can upgrade to Deluxe to gain access to both the Night Springs and The Lake House expansions. Additionally, all players can expect quality-of-life enhancements with the expansion’s launch.
3. Overview of Alan Wake 2
