ALGS Championship Year 4: Streaming Guide, Schedule, and Results

The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 4 Championship is currently being held in Sapporo, Japan. This thrilling event features the world’s top 40 Apex teams competing for a substantial prize pool of $2 million. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the matches and stay updated on the action.

In contrast to last year’s event, where TSM emerged as champions in the Year 3 finals, the competitive landscape of Apex esports has evolved significantly since then. Player rosters and team dynamics have shifted, yet the championship format remains familiar, utilizing the engaging ‘match point’ system that makes ALGS matches so exciting.

How to Watch the ALGS Championship

Fans can catch all the action live on the Apex Legends Twitch and YouTube channels. The Twitch feed is conveniently embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

To acquire Twitch drops during the matches, viewers must watch the event on Twitch. Instructions on how to link your accounts for the drops can be found here.

Championship Format Overview

Group Stage: January 29 – 30

The competition begins with 40 teams divided into four groups of ten. Each group will engage in a single 6-game series against teams from the other groups. The performance during this stage will determine their placement in the upcoming double-elimination bracket.

Here are the groups:

Bracket Stage: January 31 – February 1

The bracket stage consists of three rounds, each featuring an eight-match series: the Winner’s Bracket, and two Loser’s Bracket rounds. The bottom ten teams from the Winner’s bracket will move down to Loser’s Round 2, while the ten lowest-ranked teams from Loser’s Round 1 will be eliminated. Similarly, the bottom ten from Loser’s Round 2 will be cut from the tournament.

The top 10 teams from the Winner’s bracket along with 10 teams from Loser’s Round 2 will qualify for the finals.

Finals: February 2

The final showdown will see teams battling fiercely until they reach a threshold of 50 points. Achieving this milestone activates their ‘match point,’ allowing them to secure the championship by finishing first in a subsequent match (excluding the one where they reached 50 points).

Event Schedule

Given that the championship is taking place in Japan, the event timings might not be ideal for viewers in the US or Europe, as many matches will air late at night or early morning local time.
