The weathered and distressed appearance of the universe in the Alien franchise is one of its most appealing aspects. Now, you have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition Stomper shoe to commemorate the film’s unique aesthetic.
Reebok has revealed that they will be releasing the Alien: Romulus Stomper, a distinct shoe style created specifically for the franchise.
The upcoming footwear will possess a fittingly grungy and distressed appearance, mirroring the gritty aesthetic of the Alien universe during the time of Romulus’ story.
The shoes, described as Reebok x Aliens BB 4000 II Mid Shoes, are highlighted by a distressed leather exterior and are adorned with a Weyland-Yutani logo on both the tongue and heel.
Reebok is releasing a new Stomper variant to commemorate Alien: Romulus.
As reported by Bloody Disgusting, the images reveal that the sneakers will come with a special box that mimics the eerie appearance of a Xenomorph.
Although fans may be interested, they will not be able to simply purchase the Stompers at a mall. The price for the Stompers will be $170 USD and they will only be accessible through Reebok’s website starting on August 27th.
The “Stomper”shoe was initially designed for the 1991 film Aliens, and was worn by the protagonist Ellen Ripley and her android companion Bishop as they battled against a group of Xenomorphs.
The initial Stomper was a product of the trend during the late 1980s and early 1990s where shoes were designed specifically for movies. Nike shoes were famously worn by both Batman and Marty McFly in Batman and Back to the Future Part II, respectively.
In 2016, Reebok began producing replica Stomper shoes to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Aliens. These shoes were in high demand, leading them to release multiple variations, including a bright yellow version inspired by the iconic Power Loader from the film.
