Although some may argue that Pokemon such as Eevee should be included on this list, it is important to note that the adorable creature has not been officially classified as either a dog or a cat Pokemon.
Currently, these are the sole Pokemon that have been officially classified as man’s loyal companions.
How are Dog Pokemon Categorized?
Despite the fact that many Pokemon share characteristics with canines, we have specifically chosen to include only those that are directly identified as such in their Pokedex descriptions. A prime example is Entei, which bears a resemblance to a massive wolf, but Pokemon designer Muneo Saitō has clarified that its outline could also be interpreted as that of a dog or a cat.
Additionally, Smeargle (Doble) has been included on the list for its Japanese name, which combines the words “dog”and “doodle”. Foxes have also made the list due to their classification in the canine family.
Some of the categories in the Pokemon universe include Dog Pokemon, Cutest Pokemon, Legendary Pokemon, and Creepiest ‘mon.
