All Might’s Potential Hidden Quirk in My Hero Academia, and the Evidence to Support It

After the latest My Hero Academia manga chapter revealed significant plot twists regarding the new All For One, Shigaraki Tomura, fans have started speculating about potential revelations in the series. One popular theory suggests that Toshinori Yagi, also known as All Might, may have had a quirk all along, despite previously being believed to be quirkless.

Ever since the beginning of the manga, it has been revealed that All Might, like Izuku Midoriya, was born without a quirk. But, thanks to Nana Shimura, the seventh One For All user, he was granted the One For All quirk and became her successor. However, there is a theory that suggests All Might may have possessed a passive quirk.

Please be aware that the My Hero Academia manga spoilers are included in this article.

My Hero Academia Theory: All Might’s Possible Innate Quirk

As stated by Reddit user u/EpicAquarius, it is possible that All Might did not always lack a quirk. In the manga, it is revealed that Toshinori Yagi, like Izuku Midoriya, was once quirkless. However, the seventh user of One For All, Nana Shimura, saw potential in him and chose him as her successor. Nana then passed down her quirk to All Might, making him the eighth user of One For All.

Despite the manga stating that All Might was quirkless, there is a possibility that the manga creator Kohei Horikoshi had a different plan for the former No.1 Hero. As shown in the recent chapters, the Decay quirk was not originally Tenko Shimura’s innate quirk. It was, in fact, given to him by All For One.

Likewise, there is a possibility that the My Hero Academia manga will soon unveil a revelation about All Might’s quirk. This aligns with the interpretation of u/EpicAquarius, which suggests that the manga could potentially reveal the inherent quirk of the former No. 1 Hero.

As seen in the series, All Might was potentially the most powerful wielder of One For All in history prior to Izuku Midoriya. Additionally, he held the quirk for the longest period of time. These anomalies led u/EpicAquarius to speculate that All Might may have possessed a latent quirk that enhanced the potency of his abilities.

Despite being a One For All user, All Might was unable to utilize the quirks of the previous users, setting him apart from others who possessed the same ability. Although he was aware of the vestiges, All Might never demonstrated the use of any other quirks aside from his immense physical strength. It is possible that his unique quirk, “Maximize,”consolidated all of the inherited abilities into an unstoppable force. This is why he was the only One For All user who could confront All For One on an even playing field.

Considering the potential for the quirk to be passive, the physicians of that time may have incorrectly concluded that Toshinori Yagi was without a quirk since birth. Nevertheless, it is possible that he possessed a quirk throughout his life. The only hurdle was his need for another quirk factor to utilize it proficiently. As a result, upon receiving the power of One For All, he could finally unleash the full potential of his quirk.

Nevertheless, the validity of this theory can only be confirmed if the manga series also presents the same information. Until then, fans can only remain optimistic about the possibility of these events.
