Starfield companions will provide support and assistance in combat, regardless of your role as an explorer or bounty hunter. This list includes all of the game’s companions, along with their abilities and background information.
Despite not being a multiplayer game, Starfield offers players the ability to have Companions by their side. These computer-controlled units each have their own distinct backgrounds and play a significant role in the main story of the game.
Having an additional set of hands on board is highly beneficial, especially when navigating a hazardous planet.

Starfield: A Guide to the Companion System
Sarah is the first human companion players meet in Starfield.
While there are multiple named characters in Starfield who are available as Companions or Crewmembers, only four of them have the most intricate storylines and offer story interaction.

Furthermore, the developers also disclosed that while it is possible to have romantic relationships with Companions, Crewmembers are not an option. This means you should carefully consider your actions before attempting to pursue a romantic relationship with your AI comrades.
