Fans of the popular Netflix series will be taken aback by Emily’s change in lifestyle in Season 4. But is there even a possibility of Emily in Paris Season 5?
The show’s rapid developments continue to surprise viewers, particularly with Season 4 Part 2 introducing a pivotal shift: a new job and a romantic interest amid a captivating new setting.
As Emily embraces these changes, her focus shifts primarily to Marcello, while Gabriel, despite his Michelin star, assumes a more platonic role.
However, being a Netflix rom-com, changes are part and parcel of the narrative. As Emily adapts to her new life, one burning question remains: will fans witness Emily in Paris Season 5?
Will there be an Emily in Paris Season 5?
As of now, Emily in Paris Season 5 hasn’t been officially confirmed. Nonetheless, this doesn’t rule out the potential for future plans in motion.
“There are several potential storylines from previous seasons that might reappear in Season 5,” he mentioned. “Fans can expect some surprises in the new episodes.”
For the moment, Star and his cast can only hope that the streaming giant is eager to continue Emily’s adventure in Italy. Even Lily Collins remains in suspense.
During her interview with ExtraTV, she stated, “We’re waiting for Season 5 to find that out, and I’m really hoping for a greenlight to explore more of Italy. It would be thrilling to see more of the city, its culture, and what Marcello could bring into Emily’s life.”
“It’s a completely different vibe, and I can’t wait for Emily to discover this new version of herself.”
We will keep this page updated once Netflix announces any official news.
We don’t know if the title would change
By the end of Season 4 Episode 10, Emily in Paris has transformed into Emily in Rome. It remains uncertain if the show’s title will officially change… but it’s a possibility.
In theory, new episodes could be labeled as Emily in Rome Season 1. In the last moments of Season 4 Episode 10, Emily considers changing her Instagram handle, deleting the “Paris” part and beginning to type “Rome” before she’s interrupted by a knock at the door from Marcello.
Emily has literally left her Parisian tales unresolved, making it feasible for her to return to the French capital at any moment. Given her significant connections there, a potential return to the original setting is always a possibility.
The existing episode schedule might also indicate whether Emily in Rome will have a lasting title. The branding “Emily in Rome” was used for Season 4 Part 2, implying that stark changes in the show’s presentation might not be imminent.
Potential cast
While there’s no confirmation yet, it makes sense for all principal cast members to return for Emily in Paris Season 5, including the new characters introduced in Season 4.
For those unfamiliar, the cast lineup would include:
- Lily Collins as Emily
- Ashley Park as Mindy
- Lucas Bravo as Gabriel
- Camille Razat as Camille
- Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie
- Samuel Arnold as Julien
- Bruno Gouery as Luc
- Lucien Laviscount as Alfie
Moreover, there are new Italian characters introduced in the lineup:
- Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello
- Thalia Besson as Genevieve
- Rupert Everett as Giorgio Barbieri
- Anna Galiena as Antonia Muratori
- Raoul Bove as Giancarlo
That said, the future of several other characters remains uncertain. In Season 4, Sofia (Melia Kreiling) returned to Greece, while Sylvie’s husband Laurent (Arnaud Binard) found himself frequently abroad for business.
For now, Emily is staying in Rome
Emily has officially replaced Paris with Rome, driven by her new job and relationship. However, there’s one thing that might pull her back to Paris: Gabriel.
After Mindy returns from visiting Emily in Rome, she shares the career news with Gabriel and Alfie. Gabriel, who has been trying to avoid the advances of new Agence Grateau employee Genevieve, is caught off guard by this news.
The couple parts ways in Season 4 Episode 6 due to a miscommunication that escalated into an argument, compounded by Gabriel’s lingering attachment to Camille and their hypothetical child.
In the closing moments of Episode 10, Gabriel arrives at what we assume to be Emily’s new Italian home, but his true intent is to seek out Mindy to discover Emily’s whereabouts.
Unbeknownst to Emily, the pursuit is on to bring her back to Paris. Yet with new opportunities tied to a Rome office and Marcello involved, will Emily consider a return?
Could there be an Agence Grateau spinoff?
“Let’s focus on getting Season 5 first,” Arnold said. “But I would love to see us stay in Rome. The new location changes everything… from the language to the dynamics we introduce.”
Gouery expressed his excitement, mentioning, “I’m eager to hear how the audience reacts to our adventures in Rome. I’m curious if they believe the essence of the show remains intact.”
“I often envision what Julian’s journey could entail,” Arnold reflected. “But each time I return for a new season, the writers manage to come up with something even more creative, so now I just trust Darren and his team.”
“I’m really eager to see what direction they take for Season 5.”
