Amazing Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod Creates Demand for Console Access

Patch 7 is rapidly approaching, and console players of Baldur’s Gate 3 are eager to try out the additional races and lineages offered by a fantastic mod.

In addition to the standard fantasy options, such as the Dragonborn, Baldur’s Gate 3 includes all of the races and subraces from the D&D 5E Player’s Handbook, with the addition of a few new choices like the Githyanki. Although some of these races are remarkable, the majority of them are typical for the fantasy genre.

It is unfortunate that there is cut content in Baldur’s Gate 3, indicating that there were plans for additional races. However, these can only be found in dialogue strings, indicating that they were either abandoned early in development or meant for the unreleased DLC.

Fortunately, Dungeons and Souls has developed the Fantastical Multiverse mod for the PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3, which not only adds more cut races but also enhances the gameplay experience. This highly acclaimed mod can be downloaded from the Nexus Mods website and has received positive feedback on Reddit, with many users expressing their desire for it to be available on consoles in the future.

Fantastical Multiverse incorporates material from various D&D books, providing the opportunity to include races such as the Astral Elf from Spelljammer, Bugbears, Kobolds, Genasi, Firbolg, and others. Additionally, players have the ability to create custom Lineages, allowing for extensive customization of their character’s fundamental skills.

With the addition of mod support in Baldur’s Gate 3’s upcoming Patch 7, fans of the game on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 are eagerly anticipating the possibility of having access to the Fantastical Multiverse on consoles.

One user expressed, “I absolutely love this mod in the game. Playing as a bugbear or kobold is incredibly enjoyable. It reminds me of my love for regular DnD, where I can be something other than a human with pointed ears #642.”

“One user also expressed their desire for mods to be available on PS5, while another shared that they were excited to finally be able to play as their desired character, a kobold, thanks to console mods.”

It is uncertain which DLC will be included in the official Baldur’s Gate 3 mods. Since Larian Studios will be overseeing them, there is a possibility that certain content from Fantastical Mods may not be included.

It is hoped that PS5 and Xbox Series X/S enthusiasts will eventually venture into new races when they tire of the usual conventionally attractive humans with slightly pointed ears. However, based on the dedication of Baldur’s Gate 3 fans, that day may never arrive.
