With the launch of Destiny 2’s Episode Heresy, players have witnessed a remarkable transformation within the game’s sandbox. This update introduced substantial buffs and innovative mechanics, ultimately giving rise to one of the most powerful builds ever available for the Warlock class.
Historically, the Arc subclass has seemed less favored among Destiny 2’s magical defenders, trailing behind its Void, Solar, and Prismatic counterparts. The last significant build for Arc was rendered obsolete during 2021’s Season of the Lost due to severe nerfs inflicted on the Geomag Stabilizers.
However, Episode Heresy has revitalized this Exotic item by reworking its intrinsic ability. This has enhanced its functionality, making the Chaos Reach Super not only viable again but also effectively synergizing with the underappreciated Delicate Tomb, an Exotic Fusion Rifle.
Geomag Stabilizers & Delicate Tomb: Perfect Harmony
Before diving deeper into the specifics of this build’s mechanics, let’s examine the updated perks for both Geomag Stabilizers and Delicate Tomb under Episode Heresy:
- Close Enough: Hitting targets with Chaos Reach extends its duration. Collecting Ionic Traces provides energy for Chaos Reach, while sprinting close to maximum Bolt Charge gradually accumulates stacks.
- Traitor’s Vessel: This weapon fires a broad horizontal spread when fired from the hip. Final blows from Delicate Tomb have a chance to produce Ionic Traces, with guaranteed generation from powerful foes and opposing Guardians.
- Tempest Cascade: Collecting an Ionic Trace supercharges the next shot from the weapon, causing jolts to targets hit.

The synergy between Geomag Stabilizers and Delicate Tomb is incredibly effective for this build.
The core gameplay loop is straightforward: Delicate Tomb’s ability to generate Ionic Traces feeds directly into the Geomags’ primary advantage, providing a 7% Super energy boost with each collected Trace. Powerful enemies will always produce a Trace, while regular foes can also do so, significantly enhancing the uptime of Chaos Reach, though it may not be infinite. To maximize this build, employing the right Aspects and Fragments is essential.
Aspects & Fragments: S-Tier Neutral Game
Equipping specific Aspects and Fragments not only accelerates your Super charge but also considerably improves the functionality of Ionic Traces, boosting movement speed and providing damage reduction through Amplified.
The Geomag Stabilizers also support building Bolt Charge—an Arc-exclusive mechanic that delivers an explosive damage boost upon reaching maximum stacks—making the use of Ionic Sentry highly advisable. The following is a list of recommended Aspects and Fragments:
Aspects
- Electrostatic Mind: Defeating targets with Arc abilities or against jolted/blinded enemies generates an Ionic Trace. Collecting this Trace grants you amplification.
- Ionic Sentry: Defeating enemies using Kinetic or Arc weapons or abilities fuels an Arc turret that chains lightning between nearby foes, granting one stack of Bolt Charge per hit.
Fragments
- Spark of Beacons: While amplified, final blows from your Arc Special or Heavy ammo weapon generate a blinding explosion.
- Spark of Shock: Your Arc grenades jolt targets on detonation.
- Spark of Discharge: Final blows from Arc weapons have a chance to create Ionic Traces.
- Spark of Frequency: Landing melee hits boosts the reloading speed and stability of your equipped weapon temporarily.

The combination of Electrostatic Mind and Ionic Sentry Aspects is crucial for optimizing this build.
It’s important to mention that Fragments like Spark of Beacons and Shock are optional and can be swapped out based on personal preference. Additionally, while Delicate Tomb shines in this build, Coldheart serves as a viable alternative, offering capabilities to generate Ionic Traces as well. Please note, however, we have yet to measure its performance against Delicate Tomb.
