AMD Next-Gen RDNA 4 GPU Specs Leaked on Geekbench

The recent leak of new specs reveals that AMD is determined to compete with Nvidia’s current control over the graphics card market.

For numerous years, Nvidia has been the go-to brand for purchasing a new gaming graphics card. However, AMD has been steadily closing in on Team Green and the recently leaked specifications for AMD’s upcoming RDNA 4 GPU suggest that it may finally have the capability to pose a significant competition.

The anticipated release date for the AMD RDNA 4 GPUs is in 2025, with the graphics cards being included in the Radeon RX 8000 series. The listed specifications for this GPU include 28 compute units, which would result in a total of 56 compute units if RDNA4 follows the same setup as its predecessor.

The Radeon RX 8000 has a configured clock speed of 2.1 GHz, while the currently available RDNA 4 GPUs can easily boost up to 2.6 GHz. These numbers are most likely from early testing phases as the RDNA 4 chips are expected to utilize an improved node and new architecture. It is likely that higher speeds will be achieved closer to the launch of the product.

The listed memory for the Radeon RX 8000 is 16 GB of VRAM, which matches the VRAM capacity of the current RX 7800 XT and RX 7900 GRE models. This confirms the use of a 256-bit bus interface. It is anticipated that lower-end configurations will have 192-bit bus interfaces and 12 GB of VRAM.

Despite the performance figures for the leaked Radeon RX 8000 being posted, they are not likely to accurately represent the final capabilities of the GPU due to its early stage of development. As the launch of the card approaches, more precise results can be expected.
