American YouTuber Allegedly Abducted in Philippines by Fake Police Officers

American YouTuber Elliot Eastman has allegedly been kidnapped in the Philippines by individuals masquerading as law enforcement officers.

On Thursday, October 17, in the coastal area of Sibuco, a group of armed men reportedly confronted the 26-year-old content creator with machine guns.

Witness accounts suggest that Eastman was injured by a gunshot to the leg before being forcibly taken to a white speedboat in the vicinity of the last sighting.

Local resident Abdulmali Hamsiran Jala informed law enforcement that Eastman attempted to escape the attackers, but his injury and the number of assailants thwarted his effort.

Authorities pursued the suspects and Eastman, but were unsuccessful in locating them. Subsequently, marine units and extra police forces were dispatched to conduct a search for the missing YouTuber.

The local authorities acknowledged the receipt of a report regarding the alleged kidnapping of an American citizen.

“We want to reassure the public and the residents of Sibuco that we are fully committed to ensuring the safe recovery of the victim,” stated local officials.

Initially from Vermont, Eastman had made the Philippines his home approximately a year and a half ago. His YouTube biography narrates his experience: “I discovered the love of my life nestled in the mountains within the red zone of the Philippines. Zamboanga del Norte, an area recently developed, was previously only accessible by boat,” he notes.

“I will share with you my daily experiences as the first and only foreigner to reside in Sibuco for an extended period,” he emphasized.

In a Facebook livestream held on September 22, mere weeks prior to his reported kidnapping, Eastman expressed his fears regarding his safety in Sibuco.

“While I remain here, my life is perpetually at stake, as you can imagine,” he stated. “That is the harsh reality. It’s not merely a situation limited to the Philippines.”

He went on to say, “There have been nights filled with fear, moments when I feel anxious… though things have gradually improved. Previously, I have struggled to find rest at night.”

As of the latest updates, Lieutenant-Colonel Helen Galvez reported, “Currently, no ransom demands have been made.”
