Amy Poehler Expresses Interest in Joining Below Deck Cast, with One Condition

“It wouldn’t be unexpected to see Amy Poehler as a charter guest in the upcoming episode of Below Deck.”

Over the years, Amy Poehler has graced our screens with her presence, appearing in some of the most beloved TV shows and films such as Parks and Recreation and ‘Mean Girls’.

Despite her successful foray into voice acting, particularly as the lead character Joy in both ‘Inside Out’ and its upcoming sequel, the actress is now seeking a new career path in reality television. She has her sights set on a specific show and hopes to make her debut appearance on it.

On June 14, in an interview with Cosmopolitan, Amy disclosed her desire to appear on Below Deck. She also shared her interest in a particular role on the boat.

“According to the outlet, if given the opportunity, I would choose to be the Captain on Below Deck. However, my lack of knowledge in boat driving would be a hindrance to this position. Initially, I may be able to fake my capabilities for a few days, but eventually I would likely be fired.”

The Emmy winner continued to criticize the more conventional reality TV programs, such as Summer House and the entire Housewives franchise, for their on-screen portrayals.

Amy expressed her frustration with reality shows that consist of people sitting around with no job and just going to dinner. This makes her feel very stressed.

It is highly likely that she will be appointed as a BD captain in the near future, but it is also possible that she will appear as a guest on the series or its spin-offs. The franchise has featured numerous well-known individuals, including RHONY’s Jill Zarin and American Idol Season 1 contestant Justin Guarini.
