An Actor’s Journey to Stardom Just to Meet Taeyeon

Kang Hoon made a recent guest appearance on the popular YouTube channel “Naraesik,” where he openly discussed his thoughts on his ideal partner and his approach to dating, enthralling his audience.

Currently, Kang Hoon is featured in the drama “Dear Hyeri,” portraying the character Kang Joo-yeon, an endearing but awkward announcer who has remained single for life.

Contrary to his on-screen persona, Kang Hoon clarified that he is not actually a lifelong single in real life; he prefers to take a measured approach to relationships, observing his potential partners closely until he feels confident.

When questioned about his ideal type, he expressed a fondness for individuals who are “small and cute,” which caused host Park Na-rae to blush.

To the surprise of many, he recounted his first encounter with a celebrity, which was with actress Jeon Won-joo. He also complimented Park Na-rae’s infectious laughter, noting how it brings joy and his desire to hear it in person.

Kang Hoon’s path to acting began at the age of 17 when he opted to leave basketball behind in search of a new dream. He became inspired after watching Girls’ Generation, leading him to pursue a career in acting.

While he found the aspects of singing and dancing daunting, he felt that acting was a more attainable goal for him. Among the group, his favorite member was Taeyeon.

He admitted that Taeyeon is the only idol he has ever truly admired, even going so far as to visit her family’s eyeglasses shop in Jeonju, pretending he had poor vision just to buy glasses from there.

Kang Hoon expressed, “Taeyeon is what inspired me to become an actor,” sharing his deep admiration in an enthusiastic manner. He even recorded a heartfelt video message for her stating, “It was a fiery love,” which amused those around him. Fans are now eagerly wishing for a candid photo of him with Taeyeon.

Kang Hoon’s acting career commenced with the 2009 short film “Gori,” but he spent over a decade in relative obscurity before finally receiving recognition.

During this time, his older sister once expressed her skepticism about his dreams, saying, “What acting? Don’t get carried away.”
