An FPS mode is finally coming to Fortnite later this year, and fans are over the moon with the news of this long-awaited mode.
As a primarily third-person focused game, Fortnite fans have always dreamed of seeing the game expand its viewpoints. These calls were partially addressed when new weapons allowed ADS aiming options, mimicking the feel of similar FPS games like Call of Duty and others.
And today, it looks like the community’s pleas will finally be answered. Epic Games’ State of Unreal 2024 keynote revealed a ton of exciting Fortnite-related news, including the arrival of Fall Guys, a move to UEFN for Battle Royale in 2025, and more.
Fortnite plans an FPS mode in 2024, but everything is not that simple
Among the flood of news, the arrival of an FPS mode has attracted the attention of many players.
Of course, fans who saw the news were excited about the idea, especially since this idea has been a popular theory in the Fortnite rumor mill for a while.

“LETS F**KING GO,” one player responded to ShiinaBR ‘s tweet, while another shared that Fortnite’s Creative Mode would see players playing Call of Duty after the creators redo all the maps. Some fans weren’t thrilled with the idea, fearing that Fortnite would continue its effort to emulate Warzone, a major complaint when Chapter 5 arrived.
What many players haven’t realized is that this only pertains to UEFN’s creator tools, and not a permanent design choice in Fortnite’s main modes.
Whether or not this will change remains to be seen, but there is still some time before this goes live, as no date is known at this time.
