Angelababy’s Career Takes a Dive After Attending Lisa’s Strip Show at Crazy Horse

Ever since November 2023, Angelababy has been facing severe backlash for her alleged support of entertainment that profits from the exploitation of women’s bodies. As a result, she has been banned from making any public statements on social media. This has caused a significant damage to her reputation and has led to her career in China facing a dead-end.

Despite being permitted to resume her activities after a three-month suspension, Angelababy has unfortunately remained unemployed. She has not received any entertainment offers or project invitations, and was forced to withdraw from “Keep Running.”Additionally, her lead role in the historical drama “The Longest Promise”has not been given a broadcast schedule. Furthermore, her appearances in previously filmed shows have been removed.

In July of this year, Angelababy turned to live-streaming to promote a shoe brand, which received a lot of ridicule and backlash. Interestingly, during the live-stream, Angelababy joined forces with Xinba, who is known as the “King of Livestreaming” in China. Xinba had faced backlash in the past for showing off his wealth and was even fined for selling counterfeit bird’s nests. He praised Angelababy for being the most down-to-earth celebrity he had ever worked with. However, netizens still made fun of her for supposedly lowering her standards, losing her star power, and continuing to decline.

Angelababy made her way back to Hong Kong on August 21 to take part in various events. According to the media, her return to the city could potentially be a calculated decision to revitalize her career. As the entertainment industry in Hong Kong lacks charismatic celebrities and is dealing with legal problems that resulted in her being banned in mainland China, Angelababy’s options in the mainland are becoming limited.
