Anime Adaptation Announced for I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate In My Class With New Visual

On Monday, June 24, 2024, Aniplex released a special video announcing the production of the I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate In My Class anime. The official team has also launched a new website and X handle to unveil a teaser visual and reveal the main cast information.

As of now, Media Factory has published eight volumes of the serialized light novels. Additionally, Mosukonbu’s illustrations have been used to create a manga adaptation based on the light novel.

I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate In My Class anime green-lit for production

The official YouTube channel of Aniplex released a special announcement video on Monday, June 24, 2024, revealing that Seiju Amano and Nanami Nurumi’s romantic comedy light novel series, I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate In My Class, will be adapted into a television anime.

The brief video showcases Akane Sakuramoi wearing a bridal dress and holding a bouquet of flowers. She playfully sticks out her tongue and winks at the camera. In her usual tsundere manner, she utters a phrase in Japanese which, when translated to English, reads:

“I hate it so much about you.”

After the video announcement, the official staff launched a website and X (previously known as Twitter) account for the I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate In My Class anime, in order to disclose additional details about the show.

It has been confirmed that Hinaki Yano, who is recognized for her role as Momoe Sawaki in Wonder Egg Priority, will be lending her voice to the lead character, Akane Sakuramoi, in the upcoming anime, I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate In My Class. A brief teaser released by Aniplex gives a glimpse of Yano’s portrayal of Akane.

It is worth noting that the anime’s website and X account both posted a hand-written message from Hinaki Yano-san. In the note, she expressed her determination to do her utmost in portraying Akane’s life, despite her lack of experience.

Furthermore, a handwritten message from Seiju Amano has been posted on the website and X account, expressing appreciation to fans for their unwavering support during their journey. Seiju-san is overjoyed to see their series adapted into a TV anime.

Despite the release of a visual, teaser PV, and announcement of the main cast, no further details about the rom-com anime, such as its release date, staff, or production studio, have been revealed at this time. As a result, fans will need to await further updates from the anime’s official staff.

The plot of the anime, I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate In My Class, revolves around Saito Hojo and his unexpected marriage to his classmate, Akane Sakuramoi. Despite their bitter rivalry at school, Hojo is forced to keep their marriage a secret after Akane threatens to harm herself if he reveals the truth to their classmates.

Despite being newlyweds, Hojo and Sakuramoi constantly argue with each other. Initially, Hojo didn’t want their friends to know about their marriage because he saw no advantage in it. But over time, their relationship improves and they begin to fall in love.
