ABC Animation has released a teaser promotional video confirming the anime’s release date of November 14, 2024. Additionally, the official team revealed a captivating key visual.
The Murder Mystery of the Dead anime is inspired by the experimental murder mystery “party”game created by cosaic and Group SNE, sharing the same name. The storyline unfolds in a shopping mall set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a zombie pandemic, leading to the collapse of civilization.
Murder Mystery of the Dead anime set to premiere on November 14, 2024
On September 20, 2024, ABC Animation’s official YouTube channel aired a promotional video affirming the Murder Mystery of the Dead anime adaptation, based on the acclaimed game by cosaic and Group SNE. The brief clip indicated that the anime will be available on November 14, 2024.
Broadcast details have also emerged, indicating that the Murder Mystery of the Dead anime will air new episodes every Thursday at 1 AM JST, starting November 14, 2024, on Tokyo MX. Following that, ABC TV will broadcast the series at 3:14 AM JST on the same day.
The promotional video showcases the main characters in the anime’s unique setting and provides a sneak peek at their voices. The official team has also launched a new website and X account to share further details about the principal voice cast. Moe Kahara voices Mikoto Amano, a cheerful girl who easily makes friends.
Lynn provides the voice for Ranna Kuze, the determined leader of the Tower. Kiyono Yasuno voices Yu Kodama, a character who embraces the present moment. Tsubaki Makino is cast as Riri Aramaki, and Hikaru Tohno portrays Murumuru. Madoka Asahina voices Rumina, who is on a quest to find her missing brother.
The staff has also revealed a key visual featuring the main characters against the backdrop of the shopping mall. Before its premiere, the Murder Mystery of the Dead anime will host a special live program on ABC Animation’s official YouTube channel at 1 PM JST on September 23, 2024, where voice actors Yasuno, Kahara, Lynn, and Asahina will share the latest updates about the series.
Ryo Kawakami and Hideki Morikawa are credited with developing the original concept for the anime. The show’s production is a collaborative effort between ABC Animation and Balus. Tomohiro Ishii directs, with Giggle Akiguchi overseeing the series scripts. Teren Mikami manages the writing of the show’s scripts.
