Announcement of The Barbarian’s Bride Anime Set to Release in 2025

On Friday, October 4, 2024, Kadokawa officially announced the production of the The Barbarian’s Bride anime with the release of a teaser promotional video. This highly anticipated fantasy comedy anime is scheduled to premiere in 2025. Accompanying the video, the production team also revealed a teaser visual, though no additional details about the anime have been disclosed.

The The Barbarian’s Bride anime is adapted from the Japanese manga series of the same name, created by Noriaki Kotoba. The manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine since January 2021.

To date, seven volumes of the manga have been published, with the eighth volume expected to be released on October 8, 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment is responsible for publishing the English version of this engaging fantasy comedy manga.

The Barbarian’s Bride anime’s teaser PV confirms a 2025 release window

Kadokawa’s official YouTube channel premiered the teaser promotional video on October 4, 2024, confirming the production of The Barbarian’s Bride anime, which is based on Noriaki Kotoba’s fantasy comedy manga series.

The anime is set to debut in 2025, although an exact release date has yet to be revealed. The production team has also launched a new website and a social media handle on X (formerly Twitter) to keep fans updated on the anime adaptation.

The promotional video showcases panels from the manga, animated in a dynamic way, and includes the teaser visual for The Barbarian’s Bride. This illustration, also shared separately, features the main heroine, Serafina de Lavillant, who is the kingdom’s strongest knight facing the forces of Veol.

In conjunction with this announcement, the official staff revealed a special illustration along with a message from the original author, Noriaki Kotoba, celebrating the anime adaptation. His comments, translated into English, express the following:

“Thanks to everyone’s support, something amazing has happened! I hope you’ll look forward to seeing Serah moving and talking!”

About The Barbarian’s Bride anime

Based on Noriaki Kotoba’s manga, The Barbarian’s Bride anime follows the journey of Serafina de Lavillant, the strongest knight in the Western Kingdom of Ildren. For centuries, the Illdren Kingdom has fought to conquer the barbarian tribes in the east.

As the strongest knight, Serafina sets out to subjugate these tribes. However, her mission goes awry, and she is captured instead. Humiliated, imprisoned, and fearful of the potential torture that awaits her, Serafina wishes for her own demise.

Ironically, the leader of the barbarians, Veol, has no intention of killing her; he wants Serafina to marry him. Although she staunchly rejects his offer, Serafina’s feelings begin to shift as she uncovers the more nuanced nature of Veol and his tribe.
