Another Much-Needed Change to Warzone’s Gas Mask in Season 5

The Gas Mask has been a topic of controversy in Warzone for several years due to various glitches and its occasionally frustrating animation. However, with the release of Season 5, a modification has been implemented to reduce its intrusiveness.

The introduction of the Urzikstan update during MW3 Season 1 brought a change to the Gas Mask, which now featured a hazy overlay whenever it was used. This design choice aimed to ensure that players were always aware when the Gas Mask was equipped, but it also resulted in some visibility problems, particularly outside of the storm.

Following numerous complaints over the span of several months, Season 5 has finally addressed the issue. The Gas Mask overlay has undergone a complete overhaul and will now only activate if you have the mask equipped while in the gas. This allows players to confidently equip a mask whenever they stumble upon one, without the added distraction of the overlay during intense gun battles.

If you happen to get caught in the storm, the overlay will still appear to ensure your safety. Once activated, it will gradually deteriorate and develop cracks as the cloud continues to wear it down.

After escaping the gas and returning to solid ground, the effect will automatically dissipate, eliminating the need to manually remove it as you resume your activities.

The Gas Mask is an important tool but has caused plenty of frustration for players.

Although it may seem like a small alteration, players have been eagerly anticipating this change since Urzikstan’s launch. Many believed that the Gas Mask overlay was needlessly intrusive, particularly when it cracked in the storm and required manual removal and storage in their backpacks.

Fortunately, with this enhancement, you can keep it equipped at all times unless you need to make room in your inventory. You can confidently rely on its protection from the gas without it causing any hindrance.

This allows you to devote your full attention to leveling up the STG Assault Rifle, Static-HV SMG, and other newly introduced weapons in Season 5.
