Apex Legends Player Argues One Battle Pass Change Is Worse Than the Price

“Several Apex Legends players have expressed that the controversial Battle Pass update is not primarily concerning the price changes.”

Prior to Season 22’s release in August, Respawn introduced several modifications to the Battle Pass that sparked outrage among the Apex Legends community.

These modifications divide the Battle Pass into two sections, resulting in two distinct passes with 60 tiers each, instead of the usual 110 levels.

Respawn and EA have made additional adjustments to the original pricing structure, resulting in a $10 cost for each half-season Premium pass. To make matters worse, players will no longer have the option to buy passes using Apex Coins.

A group of fans quickly flooded Apex’s Steam page with negative reviews following the announcement, criticizing the recent price changes.

Despite the complaints about pricing, one player argues that the time limitations are actually the most problematic aspect of the new BP. According to Reddit user McManus26, “The worst thing about the new BP is definitely the time limitations.”

The Redditor expressed their frustration that the upcoming seasons of Apex Legends, starting from Season 22, will further intensify the already exhausting fear of missing out on the battle pass.

Casual players who have difficulty completing the pass before its end date will face more stringent time constraints, and may also be required to play with characters and use weapons that do not align with their preferences in order to complete challenges.

The split season approach allows players only a fraction of the typical three-month season to complete the 60 tiers of Battle Pass content.

Despite the Battle Pass now being a premium-only item, the average playtime required to complete it has actually increased. This means that there is a higher chance of not finishing the Battle Pass and losing items that were paid for.

A commenter in the replies also pointed out that this sentiment has been shared by fans for quite some time. Many believe that paying actual money should entitle them to “finish the battle pass at their own pace.”

Some individuals expressed their desire for modifications to the monotonous tasks often found in Battle Passes.

Despite the mixed opinions, some in the thread still believe that the pricing overhaul remains the most frustrating aspect of Respawn’s changes.

Some argued that the solution to both issues could be simply waiting to purchase a Battle Pass until after completing it, as it would convey the message that they are not willing to pay for the opportunity to grind.

Regardless, it is evident that the Apex Battle Pass controversy will continue to be a prominent issue.
