Many Apex Legends players are expressing their disappointment over Respawn’s lack of upgrades to the game’s anti-cheat system, especially in light of recent quality-of-life improvements.
In recent years, Respawn has faced pressure from Apex Legends fans to prioritize the battle royale’s well-being instead of implementing major updates. Fans have expressed the need for server upgrades, proper gun balancing, and a reevaluation of overall gameplay.
Respawn has addressed several of these areas, responding to the demand. While not every new season features a new legend, gun, or map, some recent updates have focused on revamping abilities and in-game elements.
Despite public outcry, the anti-cheat system remains unchanged. Players continue to encounter a high number of cheaters on a daily basis, leading to disappointment as they yearn for improvement in this area.

Despite being the biggest issue raised, no action was taken to discourage cheaters. In fact, it almost seems as though they welcome them in order to increase their player count. This is extremely disappointing, especially considering the recent changes that have revitalized the game. Unfortunately, I cannot overlook this issue.
The Apex Legends community wants to see Respawn improve the anti-cheat.
Many fans were in immediate agreement with this viewpoint. “This season is already incredibly problematic, with numerous cheaters not even attempting to conceal their actions. In truth, they never truly needed to hide it,”expressed MercilessM3. “It’s a shame, truly. That was my primary concern. Now it seems like they don’t even care,”echoed another fan.
“That’s correct, and it’s noticeable in ranked play that there is a high presence of cheaters in Diamond, Masters, and Pred ranks,”another person chimed in. “This is not to discredit the legitimately skilled players in those ranks, as there are definitely some. However, there is a significant number of cheaters as well.”
Some people contended that completely eliminating cheaters would be an extremely difficult task. One person commented, “I don’t see how Respawn can address the issue of cheaters. They seem to be present in every game, and no matter what measures are taken, cheaters will always find a way around them – that’s why they’re called cheaters.”
Respawn has previously taken action against cheaters and made commitments for future improvements. Therefore, it is hoped that they will continue to uphold their promises.
