The introduction of solo mode to the battle royale in Season 21 has received high praise from Apex Legends players for the developers.
On May 7, Apex Legends Season 21 was released, introducing a new season and featuring the addition of the highly anticipated Legend ‘Alter’ to the beloved battle royale game.
The latest update also received praise for its addition of a solo mode, with players expressing their appreciation. A Reddit post on May 8 garnered positive responses from some, who even claimed it to be the most enjoyable experience since the game’s launch.
“According to the player, Solos has been the most enjoyable game mode in Apex since its launch. However, they expressed a desire for it not to replace Duos, as that is their usual choice of game with their friend. Despite this, the player admits that Solos is incredibly entertaining.”

After Respawn replaced duos with solos, players had many questions about the decision, prompting the devs to provide a response.
Their explanation stated that having three game modes simultaneously would make it more difficult to find matches, as the player base would be divided amongst them.
Despite this, players remain delighted with the solo mode. In response to the thread, numerous players expressed that they are having the most enjoyable experience playing Apex they have ever had.
“I’m thoroughly enjoying playing in solos mode. I haven’t had much experience with duos since I prefer to play solo. While some games can be challenging, overall I’m loving the experience. It feels refreshing and the re-queue option is a fantastic improvement for convenience,”stated a player.
Despite the presence of try-hards and the frustration of sweaty lobbies, it’s safe to say that the solo mode has been well-received by players.
