Attention all otakus! Get ready for a new anime coming your way! On August 28, 2024, CyberAgent and its subsidiary Cybergames Pictures revealed their plans for the production of ‘Apocalypse Hotel’, an original TV animation. To pique our interest, a teaser has also been released.
The release date for the anime has been scheduled for 2025, providing avid fans with a shorter wait time. Its concept is one-of-a-kind, incorporating elements of both post-apocalyptic survival and slice-of-life genres.
Release Date for Apocalypse Hotel
Cybergames Pictures has yet to provide a definitive release date for the highly anticipated ‘Apocalypse Hotel’. However, it is tentatively set for 2025, most likely in the second half of the year, making it a potential Fall anime release.
The production company CyberAgent has established the official X handle for Apocalypse Hotel and has shared updates through both a teaser and official channels. The website for the show is also now live.
In January 2024, Cygames Pictures released the Brave band Bravern! Anime, which they had recently produced. Additionally, the studio is currently working on another exciting project, Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray.
Based on our current understanding, Izumi Takemoto, a renowned expert in manga illustrations, will be responsible for creating the Original Character Designs.
Shigeru Murakoshi’s talent shines in the screenplay department, with notable works such as Seven Deadly Sins, Ninja Kamui, and Zombieland Saga. It is safe to say that the series is highly anticipated and sure to captivate audiences.
2. What is the Apocalypse Hotel about?
The setting of The Apocalypse Hotel is Ginza, a once-thriving district on Earth that is now abandoned and in ruins due to the absence of humanity. The story unfolds in a centuries-old hotel, a ghostly reminder of a bygone era, where society has crumbled long ago.
The name of the Apocalypse Hotel is fitting, as the hotel is located in a world where Earth has been taken over. We are unsure by what, but nature has regained control and reclaimed everything that was built by humans.
Despite all the others, there is one, the Apocalypse Hoel, that seems to offer a luxurious and secure refuge for any remaining survivors on Earth. While it may seem like a wealthy person’s paradise, the official description hints at something more supernatural.
In a world where humanity has vanished and civilization has crumbled, a desolate town stands as nature has taken over. Amid this natural landscape, there is one hotel that has survived with a rich history. Despite its enduring presence, the hotel’s current status is bleak with zero guests, no new reservations for the day, and zero homepage views from the previous day. This is the tragic tale of a hotel in a world devoid of humans.
The official summary has left us feeling excited and extremely curious, more so than the Teaser. Could this mean that the era of non-human protagonists in anime is making a comeback? Perhaps we can expect to see characters traveling between dimensions and encountering a variety of guests?
Despite not having concrete information, we can only make guesses. It may be frustrating, but patience often leads to good outcomes. So, let’s continue discussing and debating on online communities about what could possibly be taking place at the Apocalypse Hotel during this whole year.

The Apocalypse Hotel teaser captivates the audience with the inclusion of AIKO’s renowned song “Skirt”in its soundtrack. The teaser also provides glimpses of the hotel’s blueprints, culminating with a striking visual at the end.
The teaser earns its name by rousing us from our sleep and sparking our interest in the events of the series. The Apocalypse Hotel may still be in its early stages of development.
The most probable explanation for the Teaser providing us with the soundtrack is that the character designs and the setting for the Apocalypse Hotel are still being finalized.
Despite the fact that the series is not set to be released for another year, we can patiently wait for the masters to work their magic and provide us with a trailer (ideally, sooner rather than later). In the meantime, all we can do is speculate about the plot and envision the character designs.
Great news for anime enthusiasts: the soundtrack for this new anime is by AIKO, alleviating one of our concerns. While we eagerly await updates on the rest of the series, let’s add it to our watch lists and enjoy the background music in the meantime.
