Apology from His Man Star Following Controversial Break-Up

Hanmin has issued an apology to his fans of His Man following Episode 14, in response to criticism from viewers about his “blunt”break-up with Youngjoon.

The third season of the Korean reality series features eight single gay men living together in one house. If you’ve recently watched The Boyfriend reunion, this should be the next show on your list.

In the most recent episode, Hanmin decided to end his relationship with Youngjoon and gave back his ring. This moment has sparked much debate among fans, with some criticizing Hanmin for his handling of the situation and suggesting he should have been more sensitive towards Youngjoon’s emotions.

One viewer expressed their discomfort and sympathy for YJ, stating that it was difficult to watch as he tried to put on a fake smile and act like everything was okay. Another viewer commented that they felt sorry for YJ and their heart ached as they watched his sad expression.

Ever since the episode aired, Hanmin’s Instagram has been inundated with comments from irate fans. In response, he has shared an apology acknowledging his own “flaws.”

“He wrote, acknowledging the emotions stirred within both of them while watching Episode 14. He expressed being saddened and upset by the broadcast as well.”

“I realize that my shortcomings may have prevented me from properly conveying the situation to you at the time. Despite this, we had many discussions outside of the program, where we mutually agreed to take our time and get to know each other as friends.”

“I apologize if I have caused anyone pain. I am truly sorry. It’s understandable to hold me responsible for not meeting expectations. However, I kindly ask that you do not fabricate memories of a special week. Thank you for staying until the very end.”

Some supporters have come to Hanmin’s aid, stating that the negative comments directed towards him are unjustifiable. They argue that his online comments are a reflection of his personal opinions and should not be subject to such hate.

“One person commented that viewers should stop expecting perfection from individuals on reality shows. They acknowledged that the person in question may not have handled the situation flawlessly, but that they are not inherently malevolent.”
