The most recent rumors about the iPhone 17 Slim indicate that Apple will prioritize its sleek new design over raw hardware specifications.
According to renowned Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming iPhone 17 Slim is expected to have only one rear camera, which will be a surprising move by Apple.
Apple is looking into new design trends beyond what is currently offered in their iPhone lineup. The focus for the iPhone 17 will be on innovative form factor design rather than simply competing based on hardware specifications.
The speaker affirms that the upcoming iPhone 17 model will feature a solitary rear camera equipped with a wide-angle lens. It is worth mentioning that the only device in Apple’s current lineup with a single camera is the iPhone SE, while all other high-end smartphones have two or more camera modules.
Kuo further verified that Apple is indeed transitioning away from Qualcomm’s 5G modems and that the upcoming iPhone 17 Slim will instead utilize Apple’s own 5G modem.
According to Kuo, Apple plans to discontinue the Plus lineup of devices due to lackluster sales. He states that the Plus phones account for only 5–10% of new iPhone shipments, significantly less than the other three devices. Kuo also emphasized that the iPhone 17 Slim will not serve as a replacement for the iPhone 17 Plus.

When discussing the additional features of the ultra-slim iPhone 17, he mentions that the device will include a 6.6-inch display with 2740×1260 resolution and a Dynamic Island, similar to the other iPhones in the lineup. Additionally, the phone will feature a metal frame made of a titanium-aluminum alloy. However, the amount of titanium used in the frame of the iPhone 17 Slim will be less than that of the current Pro and Pro Max models.
He affirms that the phone will feature Apple’s A19 Bionic chipset, while the A19 Pro will be responsible for powering the Pro models of iPhones.
Despite aligning with many previous reports we have encountered, there are some conflicting claims regarding the iPhone 17 Slim. These claims, which were made earlier, suggest that the phone will hold the highest position in the product hierarchy and will be the most expensive iPhone ever.
