During a recent livestream with popular League of Legends streamer Necrit94, Arcane co-creator Christian Linke provided insights into the creative process, revealing that the emotional jail cell scene featured in Season 2, Episode 8, was meant to be much more elaborate.

Linke confirmed, “Yes. We got a slap on the wrist. League of Legends is going to be rated mature now,” admitting that the necessary adjustments were made in accordance with content ratings.

The scene unfolds dramatically after Jinx orchestrates an escape, leaving Vi to wrestle with her emotions behind bars. The reunion with Caitlyn proves crucial as their tumultuous relationship reaches a turning point—culminating in a heartfelt kiss that fans had eagerly awaited.

While many were thrilled to witness this intimate moment, there may be some disappointment among dedicated shippers who were hoping for a more extended portrayal. Linke humorously remarked about the missing footage, suggesting it might be “somewhere on a French hard drive,” hinting at the potential for a future “Director’s cut.”
