On the morning of October 4, BLACKPINK’s Lisa unveiled her third solo music project of 2024, titled “Moonlit Floor.” This enchanting track samples the iconic hit “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer, a beloved song from the 2000s.
After Lisa’s captivating performance of “Moonlit Floor” at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival, the lead singer of Sixpence None The Richer took to social media to commend the youngest member of BLACKPINK, effectively dispelling any unfounded plagiarism accusations.
In contrast to her earlier solo works, such as “LALISA,” “Money,” “ROCKSTAR,” and “New Woman” —which project a bold persona—”Moonlit Floor” presents a tender love ballad, highlighting a softer side of Lisa. Through a pop-infused melody, Lisa showcases her dreamy vocal abilities, enchanting fans with every note, a notable departure from her typical rapid-fire rap delivery.
Interestingly, “Moonlit Floor” has sparked speculation among fans that the song narrates Lisa’s romantic experiences with her rumored boyfriend, billionaire CEO Frédéric Arnault.
The song opens with a romantic depiction of a passionate couple, featuring the lyrics: “I’ma need to hear you say it out loud. ‘Cause I love it when my name slips out your mouth. Love it when your eyes caress my body (Oh-oh). Right before you lace your kisses on me.”
Fans are particularly drawn to lines that suggest the male character in “Moonlit Floor” could be Frédéric Arnault, highlighted by lyrics such as “Green-eyed French boy got me trippin’” and “Kiss me under the Paris twilight.” These references lead many to associate the song with sweet moments shared between Lisa and her rumored French beau.

Additionally, Lisa added an element of surprise with an 18+ line in “Moonlit Floor,” detailing an intimate encounter: “How your tongue do all those tricks? How you know just where to.”
However, fans have noted that Lisa does not appear in the songwriting credits for “Moonlit Floor,” leading to speculation that she may not have contributed to the lyrics after all. This leaves open the possibility that the song may not be centered around Frédéric.
