There are rumors going around that Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and actor Kang Dong Won are in a romantic relationship.
The rumors were sparked by an incidental and indirect exchange between the two celebrities. During their appearance on a radio show, both stars made references to one another.
Most recently, Kang Dong Won made an appearance on MBC Radio FM4U’s “Jung Hee of Hope Music Kim Shin Young”to promote his latest film, “The Plot.”While on the show, comedian and host Kim Shin Young brought up a previous episode where Taeyeon was asked if she would like to invite Kang Dong Won to her house or be invited to his. Back then, Taeyeon had expressed her preference for being invited to his home.
Taeyeon expressed her concern about inviting Kang Dong Won to her house, citing the need to clean up beforehand. As for her attire at his home, she mentioned opting for a casual and comfortable outfit of baggy pants and a hoodie.
Kang Dong Won seemed entertained by this and expressed that while he generally enjoyed being invited to others’ homes, he could possibly extend an invitation to Taeyeon in the future.
The remark was playful, causing Kim Shin Young to burst into laughter and playfully tease. She playfully mentioned her support for Taeyeon until she has the opportunity to sit at Kang Don Won’s exclusive ten-person table.

Despite the comments being made in a playful and humorous way, speculation of a potential romance between them continued to circulate. TenAsia covered the pair’s interaction, suggesting it could ignite dating rumors. Within hours of the publication, the article garnered over 140,000 views.
Currently, both SM Entertainment, the agency representing Taeyeon, and AA Group, the agency representing Kang Dong Won, have not released any statements regarding the situation.
Recent Activities of Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation
On November 27, 2023, Taeyeon released her fifth extended play, titled “To. X,”along with the lead single bearing the same name.
The mini-album and its lead single both reached number two on the Circle Album Chart and Circle Digital Chart, respectively. Additionally, “To. X”rose to number three on the Billboard South Korea Songs chart and was declared the top-performing single of January 2024 on the Circle Digital Chart.
Taeyeon’s rendition of Cho Yong-pil’s 1991 song “Dream”was released for the JTBC television series “Welcome to Samdal-ri.”The song gained traction on Instagram Reels and reached the 18th spot on the Circle Digital Chart.
