Asmongold’s opinion on Elden Ring’s DLC has shifted after successfully completing it, with him now praising the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion as one of the “top DLCs”he has experienced.
Despite its challenging difficulty, Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has received mixed reviews from players due to frustration with its steep difficulty. Some have even downgraded the expansion’s rating on Steam as a result.
Despite previously criticizing it for being overly difficult, popular streamer Asmongold, who is well-versed in FromSoftware games, briefly took a break from playing Shadow of the Erdtree. However, he quickly returned to the game and has now changed his opinion on its level of difficulty.
After improving his build to prioritize damage mitigation and Guard Countering, Asmongold successfully defeated Shadow of the Erdtree. In a clip titled ‘I Was Wrong‘ that captured the aftermath, the streamer gave the DLC a perfect score, which aligns with our own review.
Asmongold confidently asserted, “I believe this is the greatest and most well-designed DLC I have ever played.”Despite his initial concerns about the enemy scaling, he later admitted, “The damage and health of the enemies are perfectly balanced.”
He praised several boss fights, but the one that stood out was Bayle the Dread. “In my opinion, Bayle is now the top dragon battle in all of FromSoftware’s games,”he stated. “It surpasses even Midir… It’s not even a contest.”
Despite receiving a lot of praise, Asmogold did admit that the final boss was underwhelming. He stated, “I had high expectations and was disappointed by what it actually was,”but refrained from giving away any spoilers to others.
Despite the solitary critique, Asmongold stood by his perfect score for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, declaring it a flawless 10 with no room for debate.
After receiving a new patch that further buffs Scadutree Blessings, the streamer’s opinion is that Shadow of the Erdtree is definitely worth persevering through. This makes it easier to enjoy the game.
