In a recent development in the gaming community, Twitch streamer and Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) expert Asmongold has alleged that billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has been engaging in account sharing to project an image of being a “real gamer.”This accusation comes following Musk’s gameplay footage, which sparked a series of reactions from key figures in the gaming sphere.

On January 8, popular streamer Quin69 reviewed clips showing Musk’s interactions with the action role-playing game (ARPG). During his analysis, Quin69 expressed amusement at Musk’s apparent lack of familiarity with various game mechanics. He suggested that someone else is likely managing Musk’s account, stating:
“100% someone plays an account for him. He just logs in to do a map every now and then. That’s why there’s a tab called Elon’s Map and why he has no clue how to activate the Atlas.”

Two days later, on January 10, Asmongold entered the conversation, having not yet watched Quin’s video. He echoed Quin’s sentiments, asserting that Musk likely did not personally play the account. His strong opinion was evident as he remarked:
“There’s no way he played that account. I’m sorry, I think he bought the account or somebody played it for him, one hundred f**king percent.”

“What I think is even funnier about this is that it obviously calls into question him playing Diablo 4 but the funnier thing about it is that people can tell that he doesn’t know what he’s doing in PoE. Diablo was so f**king easy people couldn’t tell. They were like ‘Yeah is this like a random noob or is this the best player in the world? I don’t know.’”

Further reflecting on the subject, Asmongold reiterated his conviction that Musk is engaged in account sharing to fabricate a serious gamer persona. He asserted:
“I think he is account-sharing, for sure. Trying to have somebody play your account and get people to think you’re a serious, real gamer, is ridiculous. It’s embarrassing. Extremely f**king lame.”
