Asmongold criticizes “insane” Kick for banning Destiny supporters

Twitch personality Asmongold came to Destiny’s defense after the streamer was banned by Kick for making controversial comments about the Trump rally shooting, citing “hate speech”as the reason.

Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonnel was prohibited by Kick for making remarks about the deceased victim in an assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump.

Despite Destiny’s refusal to apologize for his comments and his dispute of the ban, Asmongold has voiced his support for the streamer’s right to express his opinions, even though he personally disagrees with them.

During a July 17 livestream, Asmongold publicly criticized Kick for their decision to ban Destiny for “hate speech,”stating that he strongly disagrees with the platform’s actions.

“He explained that while partnerships and other privileges can be revoked, removing someone from the platform for committing felonies, especially when others are regularly committing felonies, is unreasonable.”

Despite dealing with its fair share of content-related drama, Kick has implemented measures to cooperate with law enforcement in instances where its users violate the law. Nevertheless, the consequences for such actions are typically not permanent.

It is unreasonable to expect individuals to adhere to consequences when they are unequal. While I do not necessarily support this, I do not believe it is a wise decision. I hope that he is granted the opportunity to return. While I may not agree with his words, I do believe in his right to express them.

The Twitch star also emphasized that one of the appealing aspects of Kick is the ability to freely express oneself without fear of consequences.

Along with Asmongold, YouTuber The Act Man also defended Destiny, referring to the green platform’s critics as “Cancel Culture Overlords.”

“How fortunate that Kick is now taking action against Speech that I personally find distasteful,”he remarked sarcastically.

It has been decided that Destiny will make a comeback on July 31, 2024, for Kick.
