Asmongold, a prominent Twitch streamer, began his broadcasting journey on the platform with his primary account. However, following the death of his mother in 2021, he transitioned predominantly to his secondary channel, Zackrawrr. Remarkably, this channel remained unmonetized for three years, meaning Asmongold did not earn any revenue from streaming activities. It wasn’t until December 2024 that he announced the channel had finally been monetized. This development came after Twitch expressed concerns about losing money operating his channel, prompting them to seek his partnership.
Asmongold Discusses Reasons for Avoiding Streaming Contracts
During a Twitch stream on February 14, 2025, Asmongold elaborated on his choice to refrain from signing any streaming contracts, contrasting his situation with that of many peers who have secured such agreements. He stated, “A lot of people, maybe you guys don’t even know had contracts. Some of my friends had contracts that didn’t mention it; it was basically complicated. They weren’t misleading or deceptive, they just weren’t disclosed publicly.”
Emphasizing his desire for freedom, he remarked, “I never pursued a contract like that because I didn’t like feeling committed to streaming. Freedom is paramount in my life, and there’s no dollar amount that could make me sacrifice that.” For Asmongold, the ability to choose his path, share his thoughts freely, and express himself without constraints holds far greater value than any financial incentive.
Asmongold explains why he never took a Twitch contract when all his friends did. Also talks about why he doesn’t need a deal now or in the future.“A lot of my friends got contracts…freedom in my life is the most imp thing and there’s not a dollar amount you can put on that” pic.twitter.com/Cir69yeFqP

When posed with the hypothetical scenario of signing a contract for a billion dollars, Asmongold flatly responded, “No, I don’t need a billion dollars, why would I need that?” He further reflected on how such wealth wouldn’t significantly change his life, aside from potentially allowing him to make investments and explore new ventures.“I can also leverage my influence and insights to achieve similar goals, ” he asserted.
The streamer also addressed speculation surrounding a potential shift from Twitch to Kick, following the lucrative $100 million deal made by fellow streamer xQc. He confirmed he would not consider an exclusive deal with another platform and has continued his activities on Twitch.
Interestingly, in 2021, Asmongold revealed that he had sought a custom contract from Twitch, only to be denied, indicating that the platform did not offer him a personalized agreement at the time.
