Twitch streamer Asmongold has publicly apologized via social media following backlash from comments he made regarding the population of Palestine, which he later described as “stupid.”
During a livestream on October 14, Asmongold provided a brief overview of his perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
He mentioned that he would not “shed tears” for those who lost their lives in the area, claiming that they originate from a culture he views as “inferior” and which he believes contradicts “the core values of Western society.”
His remarks were met with immediate outrage from many viewers and fellow content creators alike.
Brookeab, a streamer from 100 Thieves, urged Twitch to take action against Asmongold, labeling his statements as “outright racism.”

YouTuber Haix pointed out that Asmongold’s remarks should be classified under Twitch’s policies against “Violent Hate Speech” and tagged both Twitch and Twitch Support.
Asmongold’s Apology
Latter on October 14, Asmongold responded to the criticism on X/Twitter.
“Upon reflection, I was excessively rude about the Palestine issue,” he acknowledged. “I’m sorry.”
He continued, “No one should face destruction of their life, regardless of whether they hold beliefs I view as regressive.”
“You all deserve more than me making careless comments like that, and I will strive to do better.”
Looking back on it, I was way too much of an asshole about the Palestine thingMy badOf course no one deserves to have their life destroyed even if they do things or have views I find regressiveYou guys deserve more than me saying stupid shit like that, I’ll do better

Despite his apology, the reaction remained largely critical, with some suggesting that it appeared to be a public relations maneuver rather than a sincere acknowledgment of wrongdoing.

Additionally, others called for him to explicitly say “I’m sorry” instead of just “my bad.”
Twitch streamer Hasan confronted Asmongold directly during a broadcast, urging him to expand his knowledge on the issue by engaging with individuals who have firsthand experience and understanding of the conflict.
As of this moment, Twitch has yet to take any disciplinary action against Asmongold’s account. Furthermore, OTK, the organization co-owned by Asmongold, has not publicly commented on the situation.
