Asmongold Issues Apology for Previous Actions and Aims to Adjust Future Stream Tone

Asmongold has recently announced significant changes to his Twitch content and took the opportunity to express regret for a previous comment during his first stream following a two-week ban from the platform.

On October 14, Asmongold faced a ban due to remarks he made regarding Palestine, which quickly went viral across social media, drawing criticism from fans and fellow creators. Shortly thereafter, the OTK co-founder received a 14-day suspension from Twitch.

Upon his return on Tuesday, October 29, Asmongold kicked off his first stream back by engaging in a dialogue with his audience. A viewer inquired if his comeback signified a new chapter for his content.

“I’m not sure if it’s a completely new chapter; I still want to stick with much of what I’ve done before,” he remarked. “My goal isn’t to drastically change everything, but I do believe it’s important to alter the overall tone and vibe of the stream.”

This isn’t the first instance where Asmongold has spoken about shifting the overall atmosphere of his streams. In an apology video following his suspension, he conveyed his desire to foster a more enjoyable and uplifting experience for his viewers.

He admitted to having fallen into the “worst version” of himself in recent years, acknowledging his tendency to react negatively to various situations and individuals.

In August, he criticized the Esports Streamer of the Year award given to Twitch creator Riversgg, suggesting that the recognition was based solely on her gender rather than merit.

“I’m feeling bitter that this was clearly a diversity selection because she’s a woman. It should have gone to Speed or Kai, or several other deserving individuals,” he stated. “It’s just frustrating.”

During his comeback stream, Asmongold issued an apology for his previous remarks.

“I was absolutely wrong about that. I acted like a total jerk. I really shouldn’t have made those statements,” he said. “I completely regret what I said.”

Enhancing the tone of his streams is not the only new initiative Asmongold is considering following his return from the ban. He also expressed interest in conducting an IRL stream—something he hasn’t previously done.

“Last night, I discussed with Esfand and Nick about possibly traveling to the Middle East around this time next year. It’s going to be absolutely incredible,” he shared.

Despite his brief suspension, Asmongold kept himself occupied throughout the two weeks by organizing his home and sharing updates along the way.
