Popular Twitch streamer Asmongold has expressed his belief that he will face another ban from the platform shortly after returning following a 14-day suspension.
Earlier this month, Asmongold drew significant criticism for his remarks regarding Palestinians, which he described as an “inferior culture,” showing a lack of sympathy amid the ongoing regional conflict.
The backlash against the World of Warcraft content creator was swift, with his comments spreading quickly across social media and Twitch. Many viewers urged the platform to take disciplinary action, leading to his ZackRawrr account receiving a 14-day suspension. Additionally, several brands severed their partnerships with him, including OTK and StarForge Systems.
With that suspension now lifted, Asmongold has resumed streaming. He announced plans to travel to the Middle East in the upcoming year to “broaden his perspective.” However, he remains convinced that Twitch will suspend him again before his trip.
“I probably won’t get banned for at least another week,” he mentioned during his stream on October 30. “There will probably be a few more incidents, and then I think I’ll end up getting banned after that. That’s my assumption; we’ll have to see how it goes since I’m unsure right now.”
Asmongold noted that if he were to be banned again, he would prefer it to occur after November 5.
“Do you need to make it to Election Day? That’s correct,” he remarked. “I need to stay out of trouble until Election Day. Afterward, we can enjoy ourselves.”
After his first ban, Asmongold criticized Twitch for being “inconsistent” in its enforcement of rules and now seems to be anticipating another suspension. He has also expressed regret for his past comments and indicated his desire to alter the “tone” of his future streams. We’ll have to observe how things unfold.
