Asmongold Shocked by Throne and Liberty Character Creator Glitches

Asmongold recently experimented with a character customization feature in Throne and Liberty, an MMO game that allows players to create characters by importing selfies. The outcome was quite unexpected.

MMORPGs are well-known for offering extensive character customization capabilities, and Amazon’s Throne and Liberty certainly lives up to that reputation. In this game, players have the option to choose from a diverse array of presets and make additional adjustments to achieve their desired character appearance or use the Easy Face Maker feature for quicker results.

This innovative feature enables players to customize their character’s face by scanning a photo or selfie, eliminating the need to manually adjust each individual setting.

In a recent clip, popular streamer Asmongold decided to give it a try. “You can upload your face? You can import your photo? No way,” he exclaimed, before reaching for his phone and asking his audience if they wanted him to take a picture.

After scanning a QR code displayed on the screen and taking a selfie, he uploaded the image to the game. To his surprise, the character’s face on-screen changed, but it bore little resemblance to him.

“This is the photo I sent them, okay? Just so you guys can see it,” he said, pausing briefly. After showing the selfie taken on his phone next to his in-game character, he concluded: “Yeah, that didn’t work at all.”

Of course, features like this can have limitations, such as the potential for inaccuracies that may require additional adjustments. Nonetheless, Asmongold’s results were particularly surprising and very far from the expected outcome.

Despite these issues, it’s fascinating to see more modern games adopting such features.

For instance, Naraka Bladepoint also includes a functionality that allows photo imports during character creation. Additionally, the upcoming life simulation game InZOI takes it a step further by tracking players’ real-time expressions and applying them to their in-game avatars.
