Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe rumors
Despite lacking official confirmation, a report by Bloomberg in 2022 disclosed that Ubisoft is slated to announce multiple new Assassin’s Creed games. According to the report, one of the games, titled Hexe, will take place during the final years of the Holy Roman Empire and will focus on the theme of witch trials. This information is supported by similar details revealed by Insider Gaming, as their received gameplay footage depicts the rumored female protagonist, Elsa, being pursued by soldiers from 16th-century Germany.
The video also showcases the character using her supernatural abilities to possess a cat, allowing the player to control it and create a diversion. Significantly, this strategy requires the cat to knock over a glass bottle in order to divert the attention of the searching soldiers.
Insider Gaming also mentioned that the video it received featured a “dark and gloomy environment”set amidst the cobblestone streets of a city.
According to reports from the outlet, Codename Hexe is expected to provide a primarily linear gameplay experience with elements of open-world exploration. This information indicates that Hexe will share similarities with previous AC games, although specific details are still being kept confidential.
According to reports, Codename Hexe will be incorporating a Fear System similar to the one seen in AC: Syndicate’s Jack the Ripper DLC. In this system, players controlling protagonists Jack and Evie Frye were able to induce fear in their enemies using tools such as Fear Bombs. The specific implementation of this feature in Hexe has yet to be revealed.
